Guides / Sewer Camera Inspections

Three different jobs, three different prices

1. Bundled with a cleaning

The cheapest way to get footage. We're already on site with the line open, so the inspection is an add-on rather than a trip. If you're having a main line cleared and the clog has happened before, do this — you'll learn whether you're facing maintenance or a repair.

2. Standalone diagnostic inspection

A dedicated visit to inspect a line that's already flowing: recurring slow drains, a soggy strip of yard, a settling patio, or a second opinion on someone else's repair quote. Priced as its own service call.

3. Pre-purchase sewer scope

The version buyers order during inspection contingency, usually with documented footage and a written summary you can hand to a realtor or seller. Slightly more than a plain diagnostic scope because of the documentation and scheduling around a closing timeline. On a 1950s home in Patty Jewett or a Manitou Springs property with original clay, it is the best money in the whole transaction.

What changes the number

Never approve a dig you haven't seen on camera. If a company quotes you a sewer replacement without showing footage, get a scope from someone else first. It's the cheapest insurance in this trade — and we're happy to be the second opinion.

What you get from us

  1. A live view on the monitor, with plain-English narration of what you're looking at.
  2. Pipe material, diameter, and total length to the city main.
  3. Every defect noted by footage and depth, with the cause named.
  4. A clear recommendation: maintenance, jetting, or repair — and if it's nothing, we say that too.
  5. Footage you can keep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a sewer scope cheaper if you're already cleaning the line?

Yes. Most of the cost is getting a tech and equipment to your property. If we're on site clearing the line, adding the inspection is significantly less than a separate visit.

Is a sewer scope included in a standard home inspection?

Almost never. General home inspectors don't carry sewer cameras. On an older Colorado Springs property, it's the single most valuable add-on inspection you can buy.

What if there's no cleanout access?

We can often enter through a roof vent or by pulling a toilet, which adds time and therefore cost. We'll tell you which situation you're in before we start.

Do I get a copy of the footage?

Yes — useful for negotiating a home purchase, filing an insurance claim, or getting a second opinion on a repair quote.
