That glug-glug sound is air being pulled through water where it shouldn't be. Where you hear it — and when — tells you most of what's wrong.

A partial clog in that fixture's trap or branch line. Common in bathroom sinks (hair and soap) and kitchen sinks (grease). Usually a simple drain cleaning.
The restriction is in a shared line — often the main. A toilet bubbling while the tub or washer drains is a classic early sign. Review the signs of a clogged main line.
Suspect the vent. In Colorado winters, frost and snow can cap a roof vent; the rest of the year it's leaves, nests, or debris. Remodels sometimes add fixtures without proper venting, too.
We start with which fixtures are affected, then clear the likely line. If gurgling returns or the cause isn't obvious, a camera inspection shows whether there's buildup, roots, or a sag holding water. If it's recurring, read why drains keep clogging.

Not usually on its own. But gurgling across several fixtures, or a toilet that bubbles when the washer drains, often comes before a main line backup. Get it checked before it overflows.
Water moving through a restricted line pulls air from the nearest opening — often the toilet. It points to a partial clog downstream of both fixtures, or a blocked vent.
Yes. Vents let air in behind draining water. Snow, ice, leaves, or a bird's nest in the vent forces drains to pull air through traps instead, causing gurgling and slow drainage.
If the cause is a partial clog, yes. If it's a vent problem, the vent needs clearing. We check both so you don't pay for the wrong fix.
